ADVANCED FITNESS PERFORMANCE

How are the results of my evaluation presented?
Your results are presented in three easy to understand and useful categories.
Your VO2maxis presented with a table showing how you compare to others your age. It is a measure of your maximal oxygen consumption at peak exercise. World class distance runners have levels in the 70 ml/min/kg range. An average 30 year old man would have a level of 40 ml/min/kg.
Your Aerobic Fitness Percentage™ is a measure of your aerobic fitness level. It is a measure of how your anaerobic threshold compares to others your age and size. It is the measurement that will improve the most as you progress through your training program. An average 42 year old man may have a measurement of 55%. Lance Armstrong at the age of 20 had a level of 135% using published measurements in 1992. See the About Us page for more details!

Your Heart Rate Zones are clearly defined! A very recent and important article coauthored by C. Foster, past president of the ACSM states
"There is a clear practical
need for dividing up the training intensity continuum into
zones. However, these zones should be anchored in identifiable
physiological markers if they are to be meaningful
in interpreting the impact of training organization."

Impact of training intensity distribution on performance in endurance athletes.

At Advanced Fitness Performance your heart rate zones are determined in the same manner as described in the above recent study. It is our opinion that heart rate zones based on your physiology will replace the current zones based on percent of predicted heart rate.
If it is time for you to get back in shape, use accurate heart rate zones to maximize your progress!
If you are a competitive distance runner take advantage of the NEW SCIENTIFIC information provided by Esteve-Lanao, Foster et al. to IMPROVE your times!
